Greetings to fans, press and other readers. Last press release, we stated that “our main goal would be remaining in division 3 to participate in Norway”. Unfortunately, we ended up in division 4 after 5 off days and 1 injury for our captains in 10 races prior to the Norway signup date. After this, the team thought about keeping a low profile to rejoin the Odyssey of the Oryx for the first time in a while, but we gained too many points to reasonably drop to division 6. But wait… by this time there’s already a division 4 tour coming up!
---TEAM NEWS---
Velosipedska has signed 2 new sponsor deals worth a combined 80k: Easy On Health Products and Lappi Sea Cruises will be featured on our promotional material this season. Our long-standing partnership with Zyte (over 200k over 2 agreements) has come to an end, but the equipment supplier will remain at the top of our contact list.
Several signings and significant investments in the Velosipedska academy have left our coffers quite empty. Interested sponsors are welcome to contact us.

---RACE NEWS---
The start of Velosipedska’s season has not been amazing. The Copa de la Historia de los Andes was a disappointment, with only an 8th place in stage 3 for Riste Nikolovski. Riste finished 10th with the same amount of points as numbers #9 and #11, our legal team is still working on the appeal.
After this mediocre cup performance, the team captains had 6 off days in 10 races, and Nikolovski even got injured during this spell. Clearly, we were not meant to be in division 3 just yet.
An unlikely rider brought Velosipedska the first win of the season: Gjorgji Najdoski won Oudenaarde Kasseienkoers from the breakaway, his first professional victory. Afterwards, Gjorgji revealed that he had his eyes closed during the entire race, fearing the cobbles his tiny climber body was not made to traverse. God knows how he won it, but he did!
Later, Riste Nikolovski and Eftim Nastevski took both 6th and 9th place at Inta - Pechora, and Riste took 3d at Triglavski Trizob. Perhaps our bad luck is finally over?
After missing out on Norway and Oryx, our first big target will be the Race of the Minutemen. Last season, Jordan Spirkoski won the YC in America, and he will try to do so again. For the first time, Nikolovski will not join Velosipedska in a big tour. He will keep fresh legs for future targets, hopefully the div 3 Zyte GP or next Copa Andes. Instead, a very young squad will be supporting Jordan this year:
Jordan Spirkoski (Captain)
Eftim Nastevski (Wind Breaker/DH Guide)
Jovan Georgievski (Superdom/Pace Setter)
Stojance Meglenski (Pace Setter/TT'er)
Leco Vasilevski (Pace Setter/Water Carrier)
Gjorgji Najdoski (Pace Setter/Water Carrier)
Meglenski and Vasilevski will be riding their first ever tour (but they did participate in the Copa Andes), the other 3 supported Jordan in his YC win last season.
---RIDER NEWS---
Ismail Papalevski, Muzafer Curlinov, Damir Hadzievski and Ostoja Sakiri have all joined the Velosipedska academy during the first half of this season. A quick look at our new youngsters:
Ismail Papalevski is said to have joined Velosipedska due to a clerical error. Velosipedska management refuse to comment further on the situation.
Muzafer Curlinov has good climbing potential, but his downhill and flat skills are probably too average for a captain’s role. He will be trained to support our captains.
Damir Hadzievski is a very good climber and good hiller. He has some potential on the flats, so he will become a versatile teammate who could become a captain in specific races if he maximizes his potential.
Ostoja Sakiri has joined us from Alpinisti na Ohrid. He is a very good climber, but lacks noteworthy skills in other departments. He will be trained as a mountain goat primarily.
A few other notes on the Academy:
Muarem Kotsev has nearly completed his training at the Velosipedska academy. Any cobble teams interested in him are encouraged to contact us, so he can join a team that suits his abilities.
Armend Stojanovski will soon join us, also from Alpinisti na Ohrid. Armend is a very good climber and also good on the flats. He can become an important support rider, with a chance at captaining the team if he maximizes his potential.
A few statistics to finish this bulletin:
Gjorgji Najdoski has become the 7th rider to win a race, and the first one to do so from a breakaway.
Jordan Spirkoski (103) became the 5th rider to reach 100 races for Velosipedska (Nikolovski leads on 151).
Jovan Georgievski (85, 6 planned) and Dragi Stavrevski (91, 1 planned) are closing in on 100 races for Velosipedska.
Riste Nikolovski (73) is closing in on 75 career top-9 results (outside WT).
Jordan Spirkoski (9) is closing in on 10 career top-9 results (oustside WT).
Velosipedska have achieved 60 results in the team’s history.
That is all for today, we hope to see you along the road in the USA next week!
Kind regards and thanks for reading,
